HTC - RACE

The multistage cycling race Hetman Tandem Cup, held since 1998 under the auspices of Marshal for Lubelskie Region with participation of blind and visually impaired cyclists, is the largest international event of this type organized in Poland.

History

The first national tandem cycling race was held in Firlej and Lubartów in autumn 1998. There were 18 teams from 4 clubs in Poland participating in the event, and it was the team from Lublin - stoker Robert Boguszewski with pilot Michał Wit-Rusiecki, who won the competition. The next year we organized two editions – in spring and autumn. At the time the race had 3 stages – individual time trial, street criterion and mass start. Since 2000 the race has become an international event with 3 teams from abroad and 22 from Poland. From that moment the race is traditionally held during the May weekend as a multistage event. Despite many problems arising during successive editions, the race has become one of the largest international tandem cycling races which are organized in Poland.
